About Lana

When Lana Shoaf isn’t writing or wrangling stray socks from the dryer, she’s hugging her kids or enjoying coffee with her husband. She married her best friend, Tim, 22 years ago and together they are growing five children ages nineteen to nine. Lana’s experiences as a mother and wife provide insightful Biblical truths through tangible moments of her day like muddy shoes on the sofa and nail polish in the dishwasher! Sometimes with humor, but always with honesty, she tackles the difficulties of carpooling and calendars while living with purpose. Her anecdotes connect Scripture to real life and her audiences often relate to Lana’s ability to “keep it real” while discussing deep and challenging Biblical truths.

Lana’s introduction to the grace of Christ at age 15 changed her life and she’s been committed to her local church ever since. She launched Leaning In Ministries while completing her Biblical Studies Masters degree from Moody Bible Institute. Lana energetically teaches the Bible and encourages women to interact with Scripture. Her background as a high school language arts and literature teacher blends with the knowledge she gained from her classes to guide believers in a closer understanding of God’s Word.

Since beginning her studies, Lana’s speaking engagements have included audiences at mom’s groups, women’s retreats, and special church events for women and youth. She also leads in-depth Bible studies for women locally and has been a long time group leader for the college-age women at her local church. Lana also writes for her local church publication, personal blog and website, and is currently writing a Bible Study over the book of Mark.

You can schedule Lana to speak at your next event!
